DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY ARTIFACTS

In my personal opinion, design and technology go hand in hand. Technology can present many opportunities TO design. Another way to look at this is that many new technologies ARE designed. In the world of education, there are technology engineers and scientists working all the time on the next best tech application. As an educator, I feel that is my role in the classroom, helping students use technology to design their own personal artifacts. There are many different tools to use as an educator to help innovate student creation. This page is dedicated to my personal design using technology, and tools that I have used in my classroom.

Educational Platform Integration

Working in a one-to-one campus I have had the opportunity of integrating technology with many different applications and programs. One of the programs I have used in my classroom consistently is SeeSaw. The presentation to the left was created during the technology for instruction course I took. In addition to my personal experience working with seesaw in my classroom, I was able to dig deeper into seesaw during this proposal assignment. This artifact shows my ability to evaluate educational platforms that could be essential to use in classrooms, and especially could be used during virtual instruction.

Technology Integration Project

This assignment I completed during the technology for instruction course can serve as evidence of integrating technology into the classroom . During this course we had the experience of working with several different forms of technology, applications, and websites. This artifact shows an example of how to meet the needs of all students through different means of technology. Through this lesson I was able to explore leveled learning using blooms and technology.

Library Facility Proposal/Floorplan

LIBRARY FACILITY FLOORPLAN.png

This artifact is a great example to show how design can be used in addition to technology. For a previous class I was asked to make a dream library floor plan. This floor plan showcases my opportunity to think outside of the box and create what I would love in my own personal library. This assignment allowed for creativity and while I look at this floor plan I have my own reflections. Looking at this, I feel like I could have made this floor plan way more interactive and appealing. However this was just the beginning of where I would like to go with my dream library.

This artifact to your right, is the library facility upgrade plan. This plan is a design opportunity that went hand in hand with the library floor plan that I created. Throughout this artifact you will see where I have included many upgrades that are specifically included so that technology can be integrated into the library area more frequently.

Are teachers instructional Designers?

Are teachers Instructional Designers? I thought this reflection would be a great representation of both design and technology. As an Instructional Designer, educators use both learning styles and technology to create lessons, and extend the learning in the classroom. This is an example of both design and technology usage.
